Thank GOD… Just passed the exam… Thanks to JJ Mckenna for being a patient mentor… To James Birmingham for skipping the little mermaid just to teach me… To Dean Zerbe and Dave Ranghiasci for keeping me motivated and for all of their support… I owe it to you guys…  and to you… (you know who you are wink*)

Now i can watch news on TV, know the late night shows and new commercials, the latest celebrity buzz and get rid (for a mean time) of the voices of Jeremy and Hucaby… hehehehehehe…

BER Patterns

BER Patterns

The framing patterns available in Enhanced BERT can be Unframed or Framed. Entire T1/E1 bit rate is used to transmit /receive the selected pattern. For T1, the entire timeslots are used for pattern data and not for framing bits. However, for E1 cards, timeslot 0 is used for pattern data and not for framing bits.

BERT application has various available predefined data patterns:

  • Quasi Random Signal Source (QRSS):The length of this pattern is 1,048,575 bits. This pattern is generally used as a test signal to test T1 lines.
  • 26-1 (63):Here a maximum of five consecutive zeros and consecutive ones are generated. The length of this pattern is 63 bits.
  • 29-1 (511):Here a maximum of eight consecutive zeros and nine consecutive ones is generated. The length of this pattern is 511 bits.
  • 211-1 (2047):Here a maximum of ten consecutive zeros and eleven consecutive ones is generated. The length of this pattern is 2047 bits.
  • 215-1:Here a maximum of 14 consecutive zeros and 15 consecutive ones is generated. The Length of this pattern is 32,767 bits.
  • 220-1:Here a maximum of 19 consecutive zeros and 20 consecutive ones is generated. The length of this pattern is 1,048,575 bits. See definition of QRSS.
  • 223-1:Here a maximum of 22 consecutive zeros and 23 consecutive ones is generated. The length of this pattern is 8,388,607 bits.
  • CSU (Channel Service Unit) Loop Up Code:The framed sequence consists of a repetitive 5 bit sequence “00001″ with the framing bit in its normal position. The unframed sequence consists of the same repetitive 5bit sequence without a framing bit.
  • CSU Loop Down Code:The CSU Loop Down Code is a 3 bit sequence “001″ and is similar to the CSU Loop Up Code in the unframed and framed modes.
  • NIU Loop UP and Loop Down codes:Loop up code is of 5 bits (’11000′ as defined in application) and Loop down code is of 3 bits (111).
  • All Ones, All Zeroes:It’s a Static pattern of continuous ones or zeros respectively.
  • 1:1:It’s a Static pattern of alternating ones and zeros.
  • 1:7:It’s a Static pattern with one “1″ and seven “0″s.
  • 3 in 24:It’s a Static pattern with three “1″s in a string of 24 bits User Defined User definable 24-bit static pattern.
  • User Defined Static Pattern:It is a Static pattern with 32-bit pattern. Available bit patterns are binary 1’s or 0’s / HEXA values or all ones / all zeroes values.

U-Turn?!

Lost and Confused Signpost

So much of life is ambiguous. Sometimes both decisions would have been right or wrong… to some extent. If we wait for absolute certainty before acting then we may never act. Sometimes there are no ‘right’ decisions, only different or alternate decisions.

Some things in life are black or white, and so are easy to make decisions about. But why do we have to face such emotion?

Over the years, we have been encapsulated in our faith, culture and ancestral ideas that sometimes we are not doing what our heart and mind tells us. We have been imprisoned on a dark cloud telling to do this and to do that. The landscape of our brain is not a rational place. We still walk around with the same Stone Age brain our ancestors had – a mess of emotions, imperfect memories, bad habits and a short attention span. To top it off, it never has all the facts to make the “perfect” decision.

From here the story gets worse. We even make decisions without being conscious of having done so.

How can we be sure we are making the best decision possible?

  • Anticipate the Past - We all make mistakes, and have things go wrong, but one resolution we must try very hard to keep is to “Learn from the past.” Learning from the past are sometimes, satisfying!  Not only we manage some aspect of our life more happily, but also having the exhilarating sense of knowing that something has been corrected, or of  having redeemed our selves.

What Successful People Do?

Succes

Just had some time reading books from Napoleon Hill, Zig Ziglar, Robert Kiyosaki and Francisco J. Colayco, and I wondered what successful people do? But first and foremost, what is Success?  Success cannot be measured if it cannot first be defined. You need to see what you and your life would look like when you are successful. Developing a strong vision of what you will look like when you are truly successful will help you step into that person in your imagination’s shoes. You will start living life as a success.  Success is not about money, money is just a bonus of success.

I forgot where i found this article but somehow I remembered these thoughts… What Successful people do?

  1. They are Specific - being precise and particular to what, who, when and how in every aspect, let us say “I’d be there in the morning” Morning is from 6am til’ 11:59am (5am is early morning), being specific is “I’d be there at 7am sharp!” nothing more, nothing less.
  2. They Seize the Moment to act on their Goals – Procrastination! The habit of putting off or delaying something.  I guess most of us do procrastinate (even me) but some are so chronically affected  by procrastination that it stops them fulfilling their potential and disrupts  their careers. What most successful people do, once they have an idea, they think, they plan and always start working on their plan and how to accomplish it.
  3. Being a Realistic Optimist – I guess what Napoleon Hill said was true… Time, Planning, Effort, and Persistence are some of the keys to success.  It is good to be optimistic but what we think should be realistic… Starting a business at age of 50 and having a goal of $50 billion dollars is impossible, unless you are a President and you can live up to a 100 years old and still kickin’ a**! What is the average lifespan now?
  4. They Focus on Getting Better, rather than being Good – I always remember what one of my Mentors, Dean Zerbe say  If you’re willing to accept “Good” you’ll never be the “Best.”
  5. They Have Grit – Fortitude and Determination, the  willingness to commit to long term goals and persist in the face of difficulty. Failure is always, not an OPTION.

Remembering 9/11

We shall never forget
We shall keep this day,
We shall keep the events and the tears
In our minds, our memory and our hearts
and take them with us as we carry on.”

It has been a year and yet, the memory still remains in the hearts of all people in this world, I too cannot forget this, 4 days after my birthday… The most shocking tragedy of the most powerful country in the world ever faced.

When I heard about the attack, I was in disbelief. I always thought of America as untouchable, the most powerful. I never thought that America could be attacked like that, especially in New York City, their shining star. It was really unbelievable. It was a surreal feeling.

I was really amazed how America has risen on this tragedy, I saw patriotism and the people believing in their country and their flag and what it stands for. The Unity and Selflessness surpassed our so called People Power.

To the Men and Women, the Policemen and the Firemen who risked their lives to save others during that incident , you are all heroes. For the souls of the departed, may you all rest in peace.
